NAB - Technologies for Worship
For all you readers, here's some information I received about this year's NAB and Technologies for Worship. Although I have not directly worked with them, I have heard great things. I will not be able to go to NAB this year, but I hop you find the information helpful.
Hi Stuart,
I just discovered Stuartcmackey.blogspot.com, and I can see that you’re passionate about the use of technology for praise and worship. The NAB Show (http://nabshow.com) is a client of our communications firm, and I want to tell you about two exhibits that you and your readers may be interested in at this year’s show, coming up April 10-15 in Las Vegas.
The Technologies for Worship Pavilion offers comprehensive training for house of worship staff and technical volunteers and is the focal point for all things related to worship technology at the NAB Show. In addition, you may be interested in Destination Broadband - the newest broadband-centric exhibit at the 2010 NAB Show. It will be featuring technologies like online video platforms, streaming video, mobile video distribution, and much more.

This special pass includes the exhibit floor, the Opening Keynote and State of the Industry Address, Info Sessions, Content Theater, Destination Broadband Theater and Exhibits. All you and your readers need to do is visit http://ow.ly/13TL9 to redeem or register at http://nabshow.com/register with the code A913.
To thank you for helping spread the word, we'd like to feature Stuartcmackey.blogspot.com in our blogroll on the NAB Show blog. We'd appreciate the courtesy of linking back, either in your blogroll, or within the content of your posts, if possible.
Thanks, Stuart, and please let me know how I can help your coverage of the 2010 NAB Show on Stuartcmackey.blogspot.com. Don't forget to check out the official show website at http://www.nabshow.com for more information, news, and to register!

My mission trip to Ethiopia
This past fall, my church was partnering with Compassion International and the Willow Creek Association to visit a "partner" church in Ethiopia. They invited the churches to ask their videographers to come along. I submitted that I would like to go, and was accepted.
So Tuesday morning, at about 11:45 EST, I will begin my journey to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia via Chicago, USA, and Frankfurt, Germany. Please pray for me, Mike Bass, and our associate Pastor Matt Wallis as we go around the world to experience and participate Compassion International's efforts to "release children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults."
You can follow me (and our group) on the following social networks, etc. I will hopefully posting a video by Sunday.:
God Bless!

Bob Meeks' Testimony Video
Here is a video I made for a service at my church. I kept it real simple and let the story tell itself.
LifeCare of Brandon-Sanctity of Life 2010
Here is a video I shot and edited for my church's "Sanctity of Life Sunday." It was shot in a classroom at the church on my Sony HVR-A1U. I used a 17" LCD next to the lens to teleprompt a script Karen wrote.
The teleprompting program is called PromptPC, and it has a free/light/demo version on their site. You can find it here: http://www.movieclip.biz/prompt.html

Yen and Diana's Wedding in HD
I beginning to use Mevio to host videos. They do not have a 10 minute limit and are much more customizable and better looking than YouTube.

Vacation with the Colorado Mackeys
Here are a few pictures from time spent with some of the "Colorado Mackeys" near Glenwood Springs and Aspen, CO. Watch for a video coming soon, too.

Here we all are together for dinner at Gregg's house.

My Uncle Scott and his family

Isn't she the cutest!

Katie Gregg and I went for a hike at Maroon Bells.

We hiked an elevation change of over 1000 feet to get here!

What would you give baby Jesus for Christmas?
We asked children what they would give the baby Jesus for a Christmas present. Their answers were both amusing and profound.

Celisse and Joshua's Wedding Sample
I had a lot of fun spending most of the day with these two. There stayed at Tortuga Inn to get ready. Then it was over to The Sandbar Restaurant for the ceremony on the beach and the reception following.
Katie helped me running camera 2. This version contains sample of the first few sections so as not to spoil the final version.

Gatlinburg & The Smokies
This is a highlight video from my vacation back in February. It took a long time to edit because I wanted to do it in HD and I had other projects on my drives I had to delete before I had enough space to do this one.
This is a 4:3 cropped version and it had to be less than 100 MB and less than 10 MBto fit on Youtube.

Adventures of Night of Joy
Ok... its time to get caught up. The Mackey's have been busy the past couple of months. Weekends have been staying full--with lots going on. So lets start with the beginning of September (only 2 months ago)...
Stuart and I went to Night of Joy as chaperones with 50 students and around 30 adults (can you tell adults like this trip too?) After heading to Orlando early in the day, we spent the afternoon in the pool at the Nickelodeon Hotel (a very cool pool might I add) got ready and headed to Disney world. After taking the boat over to mouseland, and figuring out who was going to walk around with whom, Stuart and I and 3 young ladies ended up touring the town.
First we headed to thunder mountian railroad and then while we were waiting in line at Splash Mountian it began to rain... and rained it did. It rained and rained and rained and rained...you get the point...after eating dinner, we decided to head out into the wet drizell
to the Barlow Girls concert (one of my favorite bands) and we listened to the last 20 minutes or so of their set. It was awesome!
Then we set off agian to Tommorrow Land to Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger's spin (see stuart at
the spaceship helm) we drove the Grand Prix, and I think it finally stopped raining about this time. We did Dumbo, the tea cups, winnie the pooh, Mickey's PhilharMagic, some other fun rides (which I can't remember now) had ice cream sundaes took in a little of the Hawk Nelson Concer, and then last but not least we went to Pirates of the Carribean (where there was absolutely no line because it ws the end of the night) and Stuart tryed his hand at
being a pirate.
After this we headed to see the last several minutes of the Kirk Franklin concert and then it was time to round up the group of very tired tourists, (aka the students and adults) after several counts with diffrent results, we did the old fashioned "every body line up single file" and count down method which ended up with a successful final number.
Then the weary travelers headed back to the hotel and the crazy Mackey's headed back to Tampa (yes at 2 am) afterall we had to get up and be at church bright and early later that morning. After 2.5 hours of sleep the Mackey's headed to church and made it through, needless to say there was a nap on Sunday afternoon. Was it fun? Yes! Was it a little crazy? Yes! Was it worth doing again? We will see what next year brings...
